Chapter 26 – Secret Special Training

Thanks to Justina’s special training, I don’t think I lose to Jas in terms of physical ability.  

However, when it comes to combat techniques, it’s dubious.  

Since I spent the whole day preparing, I have two more days until the next practical training.  

It’s short, but I have to do something before then.  

So…

A rather crude method was adopted.  

The location is outside the city.  

The city is safe because it is protected by a barrier, but if you go outside, you will be exposed to the threat of monsters. 

Therefore, it is forbidden to leave the city without permission.  

The only people who are allowed to go outside are the merchants who travel between towns and the knights who serve as their escorts.  

Otherwise, although there are exceptions, you are basically not allowed to go outside. 

It’s not allowed but… 

“Justina, are you okay?”

“Yeah, why?”

“No…we were able to go outside with Justina’s words, right?  I’m worried that if we do that to the knights in the city, won’t it become a problem later?”

It seems that Justina had spoken about us beforehand, and we were able to leave the city without any issues.  

A fast action.    

However, am I not causing trouble for Justina?

“It’s alright.  I spoke to my father and mother yesterday and got permission properly.   Also, I’ve asked them to talk things through here and there, so it won’t be an issue.”

“Thank you, Justina.” 

“Yeah, you’re welcome!”

With just a hint of red on her cheeks, Justina smiled. 

She is so happy to be able to help me.  

It’s extremely praiseworthy, it’s a little moving.  

“Oh, did you see that, wife?  Those two are in love.”

Gran and Ginny tease me in an obscure way.

Justina seems happy, twisting and turning in anguish.  

I…have no comment.  

Anyway, I have to do the special training, which is the original purpose.  

After leaving the city, we left the highway and moved onto an empty plain.  

“Hm?” 

Just now, it seems that someone other than us could be seen?  

It felt like a black shadow moving at the edge of my vision.  

But, that can’t be the case.  

Very few people can go out of town.  

It must be my imagination.  

A simple barrier is installed on the highway.

Justina replied cheerfully, and I backed away……

She became a jet-black dragon while glowing… 
No, she returned to normal state.  

In one leap, she took to the sky.  

She rose higher and higher, until she was the size of a pea……

From there, she took a nosedive. 

Her dragon’s roar echoed as she spread her wings, showing off her huge body.  

The monsters all fell into a state of panic.  

It’s a natural reaction, suddenly being threatened by a dragon, who stands at the top of all creatures.  

Driven by Justina’s presence, the surrounding monsters all run amok.  

The destination is……here. 

The one who intercepts them is me alone. 
In my hand is a training spear.  

It has almost no offensive power, but possesses great durability.   

With this spear, I take on the swarm of monsters who are in a state of panic and are out of control.  

……this is my training to become stronger. 

“Haaaa!”  

I intercept the monsters who are in a runaway state.  

Because of the proximity to the royal capital, the knights are often engaged in defeating the monsters around here.  

Thus, there are no strong demons but…

“Kuh-!?”  

Driven by the fear for their lives by the dragon, the monsters demonstrated their normally hidden powers in order to survive.  

It’s the so-called power of crisis.   

As a result, even low-ranking monsters are demonstrating tremendous power.   

And not just a single one, but multiple groups.  

I’ll have to deal with them all at once.  

……this was special training to acquire combat skills in a short amount of time.  

Fighting against a horde of monsters with your life on the line, while on your own.   

No matter what, you’ll be able to train your combat skills.   

It’s a dangerous thing to do.  

If you make a single mistake, you’ll be seriously injured.  

If you do it poorly, you’ll die. 

Still, in order to become stronger in a compressed period of time, it can’t be helped. 

I have the resolve to take that much risk.  

“But, it’s tough as expected….! 

Falling into a state of panic, those monsters whose power limits have been lifted, rush in with such momentum they fill up my field of vision. 

I mowed down one enemy with my spear and the enemy’s momentum… I can’t stop it!  

Unable to resist the tsunami of monsters, I am swallowed by the horde.

I push my spear into the ground and leap backwards.   

The swarm of monsters came at me again, but this time I was able to accurately kill them one by one without them rushing. 

First of all, by reducing the numbers, I stop the enemy’s advance a little.

Destroy monsters in every possible way.  

I can see that the more I fight, the more my technique is sharpened.   

If I can’t grow here it is literally…. the end.

The training spear is meant to be quite sturdy, but after dealing with so many monsters, it appears to have reached its limit.  

The tip of the spear shattered and the handle broke halfway.   

Losing my weapon, I’m in a desperate pinch but…..

“Alright, it’s my turn soon!” 

“Nii-san, don’t run around alone!”  

Gran and Ginny, who had been watching from behind, stepped forward.   

At the same time that he hands me a replacement spear, those twp together to prevent the monsters from advancing.  

In the meantime, I take a short rest.  

Gran and Ginny, they are people who deal with unforeseen situations such as what is happening right now.  

It buys me time to get back on my feet.  

Also, if things get really bad, they will help me retreat.

“Before standing on the front line once more, I called out to Justina who was in the sky and observing the situation.” 

“Justina, drive out more monsters.” 

“Is that okay?  Alto, you have several injuries, right?” 

“I am fine.  I can continue.”  

“Hmmm…. I’m really worried but my mother said that there are times when a boy has to do something…at times like that she said that a good woman would support silently.  Understood!  I’ll drive out more and more.”  

As she agreed, Justina turned quickly and flew off into the distance.  

The monsters around here had been lured to the surface, so they must have retreated further back.  

“Well… let’s go.” 

Switching with Gran and Ginny, I face the swarm of monsters once again.  

To get stronger.  

To win the match with Jas. 

I’ll push myself hard and train.  

I’m giving it my all… and yet, I continue to swing my spear with a clear mind. .
